Ik ben Bram Berends: sportdi\u00ebtist, natuurliefhebber en fanatiek hardloper. Gezondheid en voeding zijn mijn vak, maar ook echt mijn passie. Voordat ik di\u00ebtist werd, stond ik dagelijks als brood- en banketbakker in de bakkerij. Die liefde voor lekker eten draag ik nog steeds met me mee. Ik werk wetenschappelijk onderbouwd, maar geloof vooral in praktische en haalbare oplossingen. Geen streng dieet, maar voeding die past bij jouw leven. In mijn praktijk help ik mensen gezonder en fitter worden \u2013 op een manier die werkt \u00e9n vol te houden is.<\/p>\n<p>Met jaren ervaring in ziekenhuizen heb ik veel mensen met complexe gezondheidsvragen begeleid. Nu richt ik me op sporters, mensen met kanker, en mensen met maag-darmproblemen. Daarbij kijk ik altijd naar wie jij bent en wat jij nodig hebt.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h2black\"><strong>Sport & sportvoeding<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sporten is voor mij onmisbaar. Ultralopen in de bergen en de Zevenheuvelenloop zijn voor mij hoogtepunten. Ik weet dus precies wat jouw lijf nodig heeft, omdat ik het zelf ook leef. Wanneer je op zoek bent naar iemand die voeding en sport \u00e9cht begrijpt, ben je bij mij aan het juiste adres. Ik ben Bram, geregistreerd di\u00ebtist en zelf ook fanatiek hardloper en ultra-trail loper. Niets zo mooi als jezelf verliezen in de bergen \u2013 en daarna voldaan herstellen met een goede maaltijd (havermout en pindakaas zijn favoriet!).<\/p>\n<p>In mijn praktijk combineer ik wetenschappelijke kennis met persoonlijke ervaring. Ik heb in ziekenhuizen gewerkt en help nu mensen met uiteenlopende vragen: van betere sportprestaties tot herstel na ziekte. Alles wat ik adviseer is praktisch, haalbaar en op maat gemaakt. Ik geloof dat voeding geen strijd moet zijn, maar iets wat jou ondersteunt. Denk aan duizenden hoogtemeters, technische singletracks, steile afdalingen en grote temperatuurverschillen. Waar de verzorgingsposten verder uit elkaar liggen en je vaak deels op jezelf bent aangewezen. Je voedingsstrategie is hier niet alleen belangrijk \u2013 het is essentieel voor je finish. Hierbij hou ik rekening met de verwachtte tijdsduur, de intensiteit, het aantal verzorgingsposten, wat is er te verkrijgen op de verzorgingsposten en hoeveel kilometers zitten er tussen de verschillende posten. Daarnaast spelen de weersomstandigheden ook een rol, daar kijk ik de week van te voren nog naar. Hier probeer ik een zo goed mogelijk inschatting van te maken, want de race verloopt toch nooit zoals je zelf uitgedacht hebt en heeft altijd verrassingen in petto.<\/p>\n<p>Hier pas ik hier mijn sportvoedingsstrategie op aan. Ik gebruik zowel mijn eigen voeding als van de posten, omdat ik het niet prettig vind alles zelf mee te nemen tijdens een ultra-run. In de maanden voor de wedstrijden ga ik rond mijn trainingen de koolhydraten flink ophogen om zo mijn lichaam aan de hoeveelheden te laten wennen, omdat ik tijdens de race maag-darm klachten wil voorkomen.<\/p>\n<p>Ik kijk van tevoren wat er verkrijgbaar is bij de verzorgingsposten aan de hand daarvan maak ik een plan met indeling van eetmomenten en hoeveelheid koolhydraten tijdens de race. Bij een 60 km berg-ultra ben ik 10 tot 13 uur onderweg. Door hoogte, klimmen en dalen verbruik je constant energie. Ik richt me op <strong>60\u201390 gram koolhydraten per uur<\/strong>, via sportdrank, gels en repen. In het begin vooral vast, later meer de nadruk op vloeibaar. Sportvoeding heeft hier mijn voorkeur: makkelijk mee te nemen, snel opneembaar \u00e9n met natrium wat bij hoge temperaturen wenselijk kan zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Ik drink gemiddeld <strong>500\u2013750 ml per uur<\/strong>, afhankelijk van hoogte, temperatuur en inspanning. Op hoogte verlies je sneller vocht, ook als je het niet merkt. Mijn sportdrank bevat voldoende natrium. Want gedurende de race loopt je lijf spierschade op en dit moet hersteld worden voor de volgende inspanning.<\/p>\n<p>Ik zorg er altijd voor dat ik binnen 2 uur na de race een flinke hoeveelheid koolhydraten tot mij neem, meestal richting 1 gr\/kg lichaamsgewicht en een heerlijk koud alcoholvrij biertje kan daar prima bij helpen! Daarnaast zorg ik dat ik wat eiwitten tot mij nemen om zo de spierschade te herstellen en drink ik eerst voldoende voor ik aan mijn 1e\u00a0echte welverdiende biertje begin.<\/p>\n<p>Daarna is het uitpuffen en genieten van de mooie prestatie en welverdiende medaille. Hiervoor betaal je w\u00e9l eerst je <strong>eigen risico. <\/strong>Wanneer je nog niet door het eigen risico heen bent (> 18 jaar), dan kan het zijn dat je vanuit de zorgverzekering een factuur ontvangt van de afspraken.
